President Andrés Manuel López Obrador

Havana, Nov 14 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated his Mexican counterpart, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, on the occasion of his 69th birthday on Sunday.

The admiration of the Cubans for Mexico has multiplied in recent times with the continuous support shown by López Obrador's government to Cuba in all fields, especially in the face of catastrophes that have hit the island.

This was the case with the rapid collaboration of the neighboring country to quell the huge fire that affected the supertanker base in the western city of Matanzas last August, and more recently after the passage of Hurricane Ian, which caused extensive damage in several provinces.

The Mexican president has also been a fervent supporter of the lifting of the U.S. blockade against Cuba and has proclaimed the need for the whole world to help the island to face that policy (Source: Prensa Latina).
