Juan Antonio Quintanilla, Cuba's representative to the United Nations in Geneva
Havana, Dec 16 (RHC) Cuba's representative to the United Nations in Geneva (UNOG), Juan Antonio Quintanilla denounced Friday that the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade against our country contradicts the principle of free trade and fundamental rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
In a tweet, Quintanilla said that the measure harms exporters of agricultural products from the North American nation, to whom the US administration imposes disadvantageous conditions concerning its competitors when it prevents them from offering financing facilities and forces them to charge in advance for their sales to Cuba.

He added that the U.S. attacks traditional trading partners of other nations, imposing tariff measures on different products, with the sole argument of national security, while insisting that other World Trade Organization members comply with the organization's agreements.
The World Trade Organization was established in 1995 and deals with the rules governing trade between countries to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers to carry out their activities. (Source: ACN)
