Havana, Dec 21 (RHC) The permanent secretary of agriculture in St. Kitts and Nevis, Miguel Flemming, and Cuba's ambassador to Basseterre, David Rivero, evaluated new possibilities for cooperation in the sector.

During the meeting, both parties discussed short-term plans in which the Island could provide technical assistance, among other aspects.

Meeting at the Cuban embassy, Flemming and Rivero confirmed their interest in expanding ties and agreed to intensify joint actions, always in line with the development priorities of their countries’ economies.

Both nations established diplomatic relations on May 10, 1995, and since then they began to develop fraternal ties and collaborated in education, health, and the environment.

They share interests, concerns, and aspirations of the Caribbean region on issues such as climate change, human development, social integration, and the reduction of the effects of natural disasters.

That nation, with some 55 thousand inhabitants, maintains an invariable position of rejection of the hostile policy of the United States against Cuba and demands the end of the economic, commercial, and financial siege imposed by that great power for more than 60 years. (Source: PL)
