Cuban President thanked Pope Francis for the message he sent to the participants in the 5th International Conference for the Balance of the World

Havana, Jan 25 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel thanked Pope Francis for the message he sent to the participants in the 5th International Conference for the Balance of the World, which began Tuesday in Havana.

The president, who is in Argentina for the VII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, agreed on Twitter with the Pope's assessment that "only together can we face the crises" suffered by humanity.

Meanwhile, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, on the same social network, highlighted the words of the Bishop of Rome and expressed that the Caribbean nation agrees "that the world situation urgently demands building bridges and reaching together solutions that do not exclude anyone, where dialogue and fraternity are privileged".

He also thanked the Pope for his homage to Father Félix Varela and the exhortation "not to deny our roots".

The Supreme Pontiff highlighted the relevance of the V International Conference for the Balance of the World, which is being held in Havana from January 24 to 28, within the framework of the 170th anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero, José Martí.
