International meeting of jurists

Havana, March 17 (RHC) During the XV International Meeting on Criminal Sciences taking place in Cuba this Thursday, the Deputy Attorney General of Mozambique, Dr. Alberto Paulo, highlighted the importance of cooperation between nations to address transnational organized crime.

In statements to the press, the deputy head pointed out that crime knows no borders, so it is necessary to unite countries to combat scourges such as terrorism, money laundering and drug trafficking.

Paulo commented that this type of event is significant because it allows one to learn about the experiences of other nations and jointly reflect on what actions can be undertaken to combat crime.

The official expressed his interest in the legislative reform of the Caribbean nation, since his country is going through a similar process aimed at strengthening institutions and defending the rights of citizens.

He pointed out that a new Criminal Procedure Code was recently approved in the African nation, which addresses the new crimes that take place in the world and the strategies to combat it.

Paulo highlighted the historical relations of brotherhood and solidarity between his country and the Cuba, as well as the cooperation ties in various sectors such as health.

The vice attorney will make a special intervention at the closing of the event, referring to the experiences of Mozambique in the process of strengthening the Public Ministry and other institutions.
