Ibero-American Summit

Santo Domingo, March 26 (RHC)-- Along with the Ibero-American winds that are still battling in the Dominican Republic on Sunday, after the Summit of Heads of State and Government, the ideas on the need to build a fairer world remained.

It was precisely Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who in his speech at the meeting spoke about the issue when expressing his country’s commitment to consolidating a fairer, supportive, and sustainable world, which advances towards the development and prosperity of our people.

The head of State recalled that Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier, from these territories of the Americas, was inspired by the idea of the wonderful and real, for this reason “whenever we are together, the certainty that we can grow increases.”

With these winds, the event took place amid calls for cooperation, calls for changes in the current international order, the rejection of Cuba’s inclusion in the list of countries allegedly sponsoring terrorism, and the demand against the United States blockade and unilateral coercive measures.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez told reporters that the conclave was very positive.

Rodriguez highlighted, among other things, the approval at the event of an Environmental Charter by which Ibero-America projects itself about climate change, which entails an existential threat, as well as a digital one that should contribute to reducing the digital gap between developed and developing countries.

Undoubtedly, the Santo Domingo Declaration approved at the Summit showed several aspects of vital importance on which Ecuador, elected the Pro Tempore Secretary of the Ibero-American Conference, must work with the rest of the member countries of this community. (Source: PL)
