Initiative of French communists against the blockade of Cuba is supported
Havana, April 10 (RHC) - The Cuba Linda association expressed today through its president, Didier Lalande, its support for the campaign presented on Saturday by the French Communist Party (PCF) to reinforce the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade American to the island.
Lalande highlighted the objective of the communists, announced in Marseille during their 39th congress, to work with the solidarity movement, the unions and the elected authorities in actions to demand the end of the blockade and the presence of the Antillean nation in Washington's one-sided list of countries sponsoring terrorism. The campaign also seeks to obtain financial and material support for the island.
According to Lalande, the new edition of the political-cultural Festival of Humanity (Fête de l'Humanité 2023), scheduled for September 15-17 in the Paris Region, is a good opportunity to express support for the attacked country, facing more than 60 years of blockade.
Cuba Linda will be present as always with its stand, announced the president of the association created in 1998 to strengthen ties between France and the largest of the Antilles.
The 39th congress of the PCF will culminate this Monday at the Palais du Pharo in Marseille, so all the details of the initiative aimed at solidarity at two levels, political and economic-financial-material, are not yet known.
The communists advocated in the forum to promote concrete projects that help the island to alleviate the consequences of the US blockade and its extraterritorial scope, and at the same time increase the pressure in France and Europe so that the official position transcends the support for the resolution that each year it is approved by the UN General Assembly to demand an end to the siege.
