Beijing, April 23 (RHC)-- Member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, toured on Sunday places of historical interest in Beijing, at the beginning of his visit to China.

The leader and the accompanying delegation first visited the mausoleum that houses the remains of Mao Zetong, laid a wreath before a bust of the Chinese leader and then signed the book of honor.

Later, he went to the museum of the Communist Party of China -PCCh-, and there he learned about the milestones and relevant events of that organization in its almost 102 years of foundation, as well as the achievements reached in the country under his leadership.

In statements to the press, Morales welcomed the opportunity to open his visit with a tour of both sites, pay tribute to Mao and appreciate the socio-economic leap of the Asian giant under the guidance of the CCP.

He highlighted China's contributions to the construction of the socialist cause, the work of different generations of leaders, and the capacity for resilience and innovation to boost development and ensure the welfare of its people.

Morales arrived in Beijing on Sunday as part of a tour that will take him to Vietnam and Laos.

His program includes meetings with authorities of the CCP and the Government, as well as exchanges of experience on the processes of building socialism.

According to reports, this trip will be another opportunity to raise political dialogue to the highest level and contribute to the continued development of economic, trade, financial and cooperation relations.
