President of the Russian State Duma will begin a visit to Cuba

Havana, Apr 29 (RHC) - Viacheslav Volodin, president of the State Duma (Lower House of the Russian Parliament), begins an official visit to Cuba this Saturday.

Volodin, together with deputies and several representatives of various departments, will arrive in Havana, where the first meeting of the cooperation commission with the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba will be held.

Parliamentarians will debate legislative issues in sectors such as economy, energy, education, agriculture and tourism. The president of the Lower House of the Russian Parliament also plans to hold bilateral meetings with the Cuban leaders.

Sergei Lavrov, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, also visited Cuba, where he met with Miguel Díaz-Canel and Raúl Castro. Lavrov invited his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez, to visit Russia.

At the end of November 2022, Díaz-Canel paid an official visit to Moscow. In a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Cuban head of state stated that Russia can always count on Cuba, which is interested in continuing the development of bilateral relations. (Source: Prensa Latina)
