Cuban ambassador briefs Belgian lawmaker on the impact of US blockade
Brussels, Jun 21 (RHC) Cuban Ambassador to Belgium Yaira Jimenez on Wednesday briefed Senate President Stephanie D'Hose on the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade and other hostile measures imposed by the United States.
During a meeting at the headquarters of the Federal Parliament, in this capital, the diplomat updated D’Hose on Cuba’s reality, a country victim of a blockade imposed for more than 60 years by Washington intensified with actions such as the inclusion of Cuba on its unilateral list of State sponsors of terrorism.
Jimenez and the parliamentary leader discussed Cuba’s social achievements, despite the aggression it faces, and provided information about the management and priorities of the National People’s Power Assembly during its 10th Legislature, constituted two months ago.
According to the Cuban Embassy, the meeting with the Belgian senator made it possible to discuss the ties of friendship and cooperation between Brussels and Havana, diplomatic ties that celebrated 120 years last year.
