Cuba thanks Caricom's claim against the US blockade
Havana, Jul 7 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez expressed his country's appreciation for CARICOM's position to lift the U.S. blockade on the island, at the 45th Meeting of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community.
Through his Twitter account, Rodríguez stressed that CARICOM's claim is a sign of the constant support of the Caribbean countries for Cuba.
The day before, leaders of the Caribbean Community demanded that the United States eliminate the punitive policies against Cuba and Venezuela, whose effects extend to their commercial partners.
According to CARICOM President and Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, the region's rulers feel that after so many years of coercive measures, Washington must act to lift them. Skerrit stressed that sanctions should be lifted and people should be allowed to go on with their lives. (Source: PL)
