Cuba congratulates Uruguay for its National Holiday

Havana, Aug 25 (RHC) Cuba congratulated this Friday the people and Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, on the occasion of its National Holiday.

The Foreign Ministry ratified on the social network X (formerly Twitter) the will to continue consolidating the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations.

The South American country celebrates its National Holiday in commemoration of the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, made by the Florida Congress on August 25, 1825.

Cuba and Uruguay celebrated in March of this year 2023 the 18th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic and commercial relations, after they were interrupted twice during the years 1964 and 2002. (Source: ACN)
