Shanghai, November 5 (RHC) -- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and the delegation accompanying him visited this Sunday the BioCubafarma stand at the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE).

According to sources from that entity, the Caribbean island group is participating for the first time independently in the Pavilion of products, medicines and medical technology for health care.

The Caribbean island is also represented at this renowned world business event with a national pavilion.

Prior to these tours, Marrero advocated here today for fair, inclusive, multilateral and mutually beneficial international cooperation, against unilateralism and protectionism.

During his speech at the opening of the CIIE, the Cuban leader emphasized the importance of events such as these to create new forms of business between all economic actors globally.

Prior to the event, the Cuban prime minister highlighted the great bilateral development in biotechnology with joint ventures showing concrete research which have benefited both peoples over the last 20 years.

"The results in this cooperation have to become a reference of how we want the whole relationship in the different sectors of the economy between Chinese and Cuban companies to be," he emphasized.

Marrero made these comments at a business forum dedicated to boosting and promoting economic-commercial ties and investments of the Asian giant in the Antillean nation.

After that meeting, China and Cuba signed two technology transfer agreements between the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of the Caribbean nation, and the joint venture Changchun Heber Biological Technology.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed for the creation of a joint venture between HubeiC&C Pharmaceutical and Dalmer. (Source:PL)
