Cimafunk receives 2024 Grammy nomination

Havana, Nov 14 (RHC) The Cuban singer, composer and record producer Cimafunk today received the news of the nomination for the 2024 Grammy Awards.

The funk pop star published through from his Whatsapp the great impact that this event had on him.

Cimafunk is nominated in the category of Best Global Musical Performance for “Todo Colores”, recorded with Ibrahim Maalouf and Tank and the Bangas. The awards gala will be held on February 4, 2024 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The musician pointed out that the song for which he was nominated involved an important production process in Paris, where he recorded with Maalouf, a Franco-Lebanese trumpeter born in Beirut.

He recalled in his WhatsApp message about previous links with the Lebanese trumpeter, strengthened in recent years, whom he has known for some time.

The musician is in New Orleans, where he recently celebrated CimaFest NOLA 2023, a festival with which he established greater ties between that American city and Cuban music and culture.

One of the bands with which he shared the bill for the event was Tank and The Bangas.

Cimafunk has been nominated twice for awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States. (Source: PL)
