Havana, November 22 (RHC) -- The governments of Cuba and the United Kingdom signed on Wednesday, at the Foreign Ministry in Havana, a Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (ADPC) that will help strengthen bilateral ties and boost mutual exchanges.

The signing was carried out by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodríguez and David Rutley, MP and Deputy Minister for the Americas and the Caribbean at the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

The deputy head of the Cuban Foreign Ministry detailed on the social network X that prior to the signing of the document, both parties held official talks.

Diplomatic ties between the two nations are of long standing and were formalized with the appointment in 1902 of Sir Lionel Carden as resident minister of His Majesty Edward VII to the Republic of Cuba.

In 2018 Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited London, and Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla came to Havana the following year, exchanges that contributed to the strengthening of Cuba-UK relations, based on dialogue and mutual respect. (Source: Prensa Latina)
