Havana, Dec 16 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez mourned the death at the age of 86 of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

On the social network X, the foreign minister conveyed his condolences on behalf of the Cuban people and state to the family and relatives of the leader of that Arab country.

According to the Kuna news agency, the Kuwaiti government expressed its sorrow and sadness for the death of the Emir, to whom tribute will be paid for his long and illustrious career.

The Kuwaiti authorities announced 40 days of mourning, in addition to a three-day holiday.

The source said the nation's flag remains at half-mast.
