Egyptian newspaper highlights Cuba's support for the Palestinian cause

Havana, Dec 28 (RHC) The Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram today highlighted Cuba's historical support for the Palestinian cause and its denunciations against the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Prominent journalist Kamal Gaballa thanked the island’s government and people for their condemnation of the genocide being committed in Gaza.

He highlighted that on November 23, the president, covered with a kufiya (traditional Palestinian scarf), led a march of tens of thousands of Cubans in Havana in support of the inhabitants of the occupied territories and in rejection of Israel’s crimes with the support of the United States.

Gaballa indicated that a week ago the island's Parliament unanimously approved a declaration in favor of the Palestinian cause and condemning Israeli violations. Cuban legislators also questioned Washington's responsibility and complicity in this genocide, by vetoing resolutions on the issue of the work of the UN Security Council.

He noted that Cuba’s solidarity with the Palestinian cause is not new, which he was able to verify during his first visit to the Caribbean island in two thousand six, coinciding with the Israeli aggression in southern Lebanon. (Source: PL)
