Havana, September 30 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raúl Castro met Monday in Havana with his counterpart from Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, shortly before the African head of state concluded a three-day official visit to the Caribbean island.

Both dignitaries expressed interest in further deepening bilateral relations and also discussed several issues of common interest, namely the global threat posed by the current Ebola epidemic in West Africa.

President Raul Castro also held official talks Monday with his counterpart from Namibia, Hifikepunye Pohamba, with whom he reviewed the current state of bilateral relations. The two heads of state expressed their common will to expand and strengthen cooperation links.

Speaking with the press shortly before concluding his stay, the Namibian head of state termed as very positive his official visit and stressed that just a few days ago his government expressed once again at the UN General Assembly his strong rejection of Washington's over 50-year long blockade of Cuba.
