Havana, April 29 (RHC) Cuba is getting ready for the International Educational Film Exhibition, scheduled for May 6 to 12 throughout the country and dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry.
Coordinated by the Juan Marinello Cuban Cultural Research Institute of the Ministry of Culture, the event also has the support of the Ministry of Education, among other organizations and institutions of the Caribbean island.
The exhibition will honor the 50 years of the first two animated shorts of the emblematic Cuban character Elpidio Valdés, by director Juan Padrón, National Film Award winner.
According to the organizers, in this fourth edition, more than 170 audiovisuals from 15 countries will be screened. They will be professional, educational, and audiovisual works made by children and adolescents in learning environments. Upper secondary education and early childhood are incorporated for the first time.
The students themselves will vote for the favorite short film in each section and the winning materials will be awarded on May 11.
As in previous editions, conferences and workshops led by national and international specialists will be included. (Source: PL)
