Havana, April 30 (RHC)-- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, called today to fill the plazas throughout the country, to celebrate May 1st, International Workers' Day.

«Emotional days that always precede the celebration of May Day in #Cuba. There are only hours until we commemorate International Workers' Day together," the head of state wrote on the social network X.

Cuba finalizes details to celebrate the proletarian festival that annually brings together thousands of nationals and foreigners in this capital.

This year the headquarters of the event will take place at the José Martí Anti-imperialist Tribune, a stage where nearly 200 thousand residents from five municipalities of Havana will attend.

Also in the rest of the country's provinces, the main squares are getting ready to welcome the crowd of Cubans who will celebrate the 65th anniversary of the first workers' parade held after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

According to the general secretary of the Cuban Workers' Union, Ulises Guilarte, on May 1 Cubans will demand the cessation of the US economic blockade and the exclusion of the island from the illegal list of countries supposedly sponsoring terrorism.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
