Cuban Foreign Ministry congratulates Cameroon on its National Holiday
Havana, May 20 (RHC) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba today congratulated the people and government of Cameroon on the occasion of its National Day.
The Ministry ratified on X the will to strengthen the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries.
The anniversary celebrates the holding of a referendum in 1972, in which the abolition of the federal system by the then president, Ahmadou Ahidjo (1960-1982), was approved. It also celebrates the unification of the country into a federal state composed of two states, one with an Anglophone culture and the other a Francophone one. (Source: PL)
