Cuba's Central Province ready to celebrate July 26 

Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, Jul 23 (RHC) The Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Serafín Sánchez Valdivia, in this central Cuban province, dawns today with its best clothes to celebrate in the coming hours the central act of the National Day of Rebellion.

On this stage, where the Cuban flag and that of the July 26 movement will fly, thousands of people from Espiritu will gather to represent Cuba on the 71st anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks.

The decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba to give such a high recognition to the land of Yayabera is a great honor and stimulus for the people who are committed to redouble their efforts and work with greater revolutionary spirit.

The feeling of the workers, peasants, unions, intellectuals and young people was a reward to work without haste, but without pause, to gain ground in all sectors and improve economic indicators and the quality of life.

Meanwhile, the historic center of Sancti Spíritus shows its buildings of high patrimonial value and the cultural organizations revive their traditions, music, rhythms and rituals, for the date, the recovery of the livestock and the diversification of the productions in the self-sufficiency programs are advancing.

There is also a revival in the sectors of commerce, health, housing program and community work, in the plain and mountain areas, where the main tasks are carried out by the Turquino Plan and the Flora and Fauna Company.

This is the third time that the Moncadista Jubilee Ceremony has been held in the land of Major General Serafin Sanchez Valdivia, hero of the three Independence Wars and personal friend of José Marti.

Previously, and with the presence of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, it was celebrated in July 1986; 30 years later, in 2016, the event was presided over by Army General Raúl Castro.

On the National Rebellion Day, special recognition is given to three espirituanos: Reemberto Abad Alemán, Ricardo Santana Martínez and Antonio Darío López, who were among the brave young participants in the events of July 26.
