Havana, October 29 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez affirms that his country is not alone in the fight against the blockade imposed by the United States and acknowledged the many displays of solidarity that have come from different parts of the world.

There are countless international demands and initiatives that demand the lifting of "this genocidal, arbitrary, cruel, obsolete and unjustified policy that suffocates the Cuban people and the country's economy," said the highest representative of Cuban diplomacy in his account on X.

In recent days, the Caribbean nation received numerous displays of support in its fight against the U.S. policy, which precede the vote that, for the thirty-second time, will take place in the UN General Assembly on the Resolution Need to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade.

Due to the blockade, Cuba suffered losses of more than five billion dollars in the period from March 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024.

According to Cuban authorities, if such a policy had not existed, the nation's Gross Domestic Product could have grown by eight percent during 2023.

Since 1992, the international community has ratified its rejection of the blockade, reinforced to unprecedented levels during the impact of COVID-19 with the stated purpose of strangling the country's economy to provoke a change of regime.
