Díaz-Canel intervened in the joint session of the commissions on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Attention to Youth, Childhood and Equality of Women's Rights, and Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment. The deputies of these groups analyze an update document on the preparation of the draft law on the code of childhood, adolescence and youth.
For two days, the deputies are focussing on issues such as the problems affecting the population and legislative actions for their solution. They will also discuss the transformation of the science, technology and innovation system, the care system and the accountability of the delegates. The delegates are discussing, among other issues, the economic plan for 2025, including estimates for the end of the current year.
The Fourth Ordinary Period of Sessions of Parliament, in its 10th Legislature, will meet from December 18th through the 20th, at the Havana Convention Center.
The Assembly is the supreme body of power of the Cuban State, and the only one that has constitutional and legislative capacity; in its current legislature it is made up of 470 deputies and of them more than 55 percent are women.
These are elected by the free, direct and secret vote of the voters, in the proportion and according to the procedure determined by law.
