Cuba and Mozambique Strengthen Environmental Cooperation

Paris, November 22 (RHC)-- Cuba and Mozambique have signed an agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the area of environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources.

The agreement, signed in Paris at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), provides for bilateral exchange of expertise and experiences and mutual scientific and technical assistance.

The document was signed by Cuba's Deputy Minister of Science, technology and the Environment América Santos, and her counterpart with the Environmental Ministry of Mozambique Ana Paulo Samo.

Under the new agreement, the two nations also commit to cooperating in areas such as environmental research, coastal areas projects, management of waste materials, the fight against climate change and vulnerability and risks assessment studies.
