Havana Jan 10, (RHC-PL), -- Authorities and personalities in Cuba have signed a book of condolences at the French embassy in Havana, in solidarity with the victims of terrorist attacks in France's capital, Paris.

A terrorist attack on the headquarters of the weekly Charlie Hebdo in Paris left 12 fatalities and 11 seriously injured, while on Friday a related hostage crisis at a kosher market, also in Paris, left four other people dead.

The Vice President of the Cuban State Council Mercedes López, on behalf of the leadership of the Caribbean nation and its people, condemned the heinous acts of hate and violence.

“Cuba, which has over the years suffered similar loss of lives, categorically condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,” she said.

"We extend our solidarity to our French brothers and sisters and the families of the victims," added López in a diplomatic note from the Caribbean country's embassy in France.

Earlier on Friday, Cuban president Raul Castro condemned the 'atrocious attack' in a message to his French counterpart Francois Hollande.
