Havana, February 28 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro met with former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, who is currently visiting Cuba. The former UN chief is in Havana to meet with participants in the ongoing talks between the Colombian government and FARC rebel forces.
During their cordial meeting on Friday, the Cuban president and the former UN leader discussed international issues of mutual interest, with particular attention to the Colombian peace process. Kofi Annan expressed his appreciation for Cuba's role in hosting the peace talks between the two sides, while Cuban President Raul Castro reiterated his country's commitment to contribute in any way possible to put an end to the conflict and achieve peace in Colombia.
