Large Cuban Delegation to Attend Embassy Opening in Washington D.C.

Havana, July 17 (RHC) –- The official re-opening of the Cuban embassy in Washington D.C. on Monday morning, July 20th will be attended by over 30 Cuban personalities and nearly 500 guests, a senior diplomat said in Havana.

According to Gustavo Machin, General Deputy Director of the U.S. Division at Cuba's Foreign Ministry, Havana's delegation to the embassy opening in Washington will be headed by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Rodriguez will be the first Cuban foreign minister to pay an official visit to the U.S. in more than half a century. Rodriquez is also scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Machin said at a Thursday press conference in Havana.

Machin said that the ceremony to reopen the U.S. embassy in Havana will take place later, but the date is yet to be agreed by authorities of both countries.
