CARICOM Science and Technology Mission to Explore Exchange Opportunities in Cuba

St. George's, September 10 (RHC)-- Members of the CARICOM Science, Technology and Innovation Committee will visit Cuba from September 14th through the 17th to explore opportunities for cooperation in the field, according to Grenadian media.

The announcement was made recently made at a high-level meeting by Grenadian Prime Minister Keith Mitchell, who leads the committee under the CARICOM, according to the report.

The delegation will be headed by Professor Emeritus Harold Ramkissoon, chair of the organization called CARISCIENCE and made up of a group of outstanding professors and experts.

Cuba's ambassador to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago facilitated the visit, which includes meetings with members and officials from the Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Academy of Sciences.

Committee members will also tour scientific centers, such as the Genetic Engineer and Biotechnology and the Molecular Immunology institutions.
