Havana, November 6 (RHC)-- With the aim of increasing tourism in the Caribbean, the Brazilian airline Gol will start regular flights between the cities of Sao Paolo and Havana, beginning December 1st.

In its first stage, there will be available around 150 weekly capacities on Sundays, Hipólito Rocha Gaspar, Director General of the Agency for Promotion of Exports and Investments (Apex-Brasil), told ACN.

He explained that the route Sao Paolo, Aruba, Havana will be used until January 31st, and beginning in February, customers can travel twice a week through Sao Paolo, Manaus and Havana.

Gol, Brazil's second largest airline, has its international flights concentrated in the Americas Southern Cone countries, but also serves two routes to the Caribbean, Dominican Republic and Aruba, mainly demanded by tourists seeking the beaches of these countries.

Marcelo Meia, Brazil’s Secretary of Commerce and Services, told ACN that this initiative will contribute to strengthening the existing ties of friendship between the two nations.

Meia, one of the personalities attending the 38th International Fair of Havana, highlighted the interest of Brazilian businessmen to participate in collaborative projects with Cuba.
