Nicosia, December 12 (RHC)-- Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides has praised the achievements attained by the Cuban people over the last 56 years of revolution, and has recognized the friendship and cooperation ties the two countries have enjoyed for over half a century.

During a ceremony in Nicosia, the Cypriot capital, marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Cyprus and Cuba, Minister Kasoulides praised specifically the Cuban government's commitment to guaranteeing the Cuban people the full exercise of their human rights, as well as improving their wellbeing, even amidst adverse national and international situations.

The Cypriot foreign minister pointed to the fact that Cuba has one of the best health and education systems of the world and expressed admiration for the Cuban health and education professionals offering their services to other peoples in need.
