Havana, March 3 (RHC)--  Heinz Fischer, Federal President of the Republic of Austria, led a conference Thursday at the main lecture hall of the University of Havana. He spoke about his country's role within the European Union.

After the conference, Fischer exchanged with university professors and students. He then visited the Museum of the Revolution —the last activity on his official visit agenda.

On Wednesday, the Austrian president met with his Cuban counterpart Raúl Castro, and with Parliament President Esteban Lazo, with whom he discussed the prospects for strengthened bilateral ties in such sectors as the economy, trade, tourism, education, health and scientific research.
