Caracas, April 5 (RHC)-- Representatives of Cuba and Venezuela have signed the Bilateral Cooperation Plan for 2016.

The program, worth over 1.4 billion dollars, was authorised Monday at Caracas' Miraflores Government Palace, in the framework of a meeting of the Cuba-Venezuela High-level Commission. It prioritizes ten social areas, among them health, sport, culture, food, urban agriculture and the  pharmaceutical industry.

At Monday's signing of the cooperation plan, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said it will give continuity and strengthen current social missions, among them Barrio Adentro, a main component of Venezuela's health care system. He added that the plan contemplates the creation of a network of more than 10 thousand primary health care units, distributed in neighborhoods across the country.
