Havana, Apr 19 (RHC)—The General Customs of the Republic of Cuba denied rumors spread via news of a supposed seizing in Panama of 401 kilograms of cocaine found aboard a ship that sailed from the Cuban port of Mariel to Belgium.

Cuba's Customs explained the terminal of containers in Mariel received on March 6 a 20-foot container, that had arrived from Sancti Spiritus province via railroad, which was loaded on the MSC Canberra Container.

Customs says the boat with the cargo, shipped by CUBAEXPORT Company, then headed to the Bahamas with 791 containers on board, including the 20-foott container received from Sancti Spiritus with 60 metal tanks, each with 200 liters of bee honey.

After the relevant investigations, including X-ray screening and other procedures, it can be categorically asserted that that the container did not carry drug in its structure nor did the honey tanks, so the news dispatches circulating are totally groundless rumors.
