Havana, May 12 (RHC)-- Institutions from Cuba and the United States have advanced in cooperative projects in support of the restoration of the Havana-based Ernest Hemingway Museum.

On Wednesday, experts from both countries met at Finca Vigia –the former residence of the U.S. writer in the Havana locality of San Francisco de Paula.

Gladys Collazo, President of Cuba's National Heritage Council said the projects include the remodeling of the house and nearby facilities of Finca Vigia.

The U.S. Caterpillar Inc. Company will be one of the driving forces behind the project, with the donation of CAT machinery, which will allow the construction of a workshop and a specialized laboratory to preserve documents and personal belongings of Hemingway.

At the meeting, participants stated that the cooperation project benefits the two countries, as it aims to protect and preserve common cultural heritage that belongs to both the U.S. and Cuban peoples.
