The pressing and future challenges posed by climate change on human health and the environment will focus debates at an international congress here in Havana, set for June 2nd through the 4th.

Organized by the Inter-American Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering (AIDIS), the IV Inter-American Congress on Climate Change will deal with climate change impact and risk management related to human health, ecosystems, human settlements, water and food security.

Cuban and foreign delegates are also set to debate climate change and its impact on the nations’ fulfillment of sustainable development goals, mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Founded in 1948, the Inter-American Association of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering promotes the development of sanitary engineering and environmental sciences in the Americas, as well as making scientific and technological contributions toward public health and environmental sanitation.
