Cuban Public Health Minister, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, reported on Tuesday that one of these two cases is a 38-year-old Cuban citizen residing in the municipality of Camagüey, in the province of the same name.

He arrived in the country on March 14 of this year from Italy. He went to the health services on March 15 and was referred to and admitted to the Amalia Simoni Hospital in Camagüey. He was confirmed by the Laboratory of the Provincial Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Microbiology of Villa Clara. He is stable and with satisfactory evolution so far.
The second confirmed case confirmed is a 65-year-old Cuban citizen, resident in the municipality of Guanabacoa, Havana province. He is the contact of his daughter, who returned from Italy last March 7 and began with symptoms on the 10. When she went to the Family Doctor's Office, she identified herself as a suspect. She was referred to the IPK with her father.
The man was confirmed positive for the virus by the IPK National Reference Laboratory, and his daughter is still being studied. He is stable and is progressing satisfactorily so far.
The rest of the confirmed cases are progressing satisfactorily, except the previously reported 61-year-old Italian patient, who remains in a critical condition, with the appearance of new complications.

A medical team of specialists in intensive care and a group of experts from the Ministry of Public Health maintain permanent care and follow-up on the patient.

During the follow-up meeting held Tuesday afternoon with the island's government and Party authorities, President Miguel Diaz-Canel made an appeal for all people involved in the mitigation and treatment of COVID-19 to work with serenity, assuredness, and discipline to successfully deter the disease.

The new coronavirus is already present in 144 countries, with more than 180 thousand cases reported, of which 7,110 people have died.
