Resist, it won't be easy, but the end result will be historic, asked U.S. President Donald Trump to the citizens of this country in search of support for his trade war against the whole world, and indeed, people have already begun to resist, although not in the way the tycoon expected.

This weekend, demonstrations were held in 1,200 cities in all 50 states to reject the measures adopted by Trump and his right-hand man, billionaire Elon Musk, both in terms of tariffs and massive layoffs in the public sector and the hunt for undocumented migrants.

Through more than 200 executive orders so far,  the head of the White House has overturned the legal order of that power and is damaging international relations with its partners, allies, supporters and adversaries in a way that could be irreversible.

The second version of the angry president's government demonstrates the old principle that the United States has no friends, it only has interests, only this time he went too far and the consequences have already begun to be very drastic, both for him politically and for his country, which seems to be headed for a serious social and economic crisis.

In total, millions of people marched inside and outside the country to demand that Trump "keep his hands off" their lives, their salaries, their jobs, their health and education services, their struggle for decent housing and their increasingly precarious welfare.

The fall of the financial markets, has wiped out the savings of many families, in a country where it is common for ordinary people to invest in shares of various companies or government bonds.

During the marches against the US executive, slogans such as "Trumpists to the garbage", "Democracy not oligarchy", "We don't want kings" and "Save Social Security" were read.

The protests were attended by young people, retired people, professionals, representatives of ethnic minorities, some of whom are not exactly in the minority in this country that was born from a melting pot, even if it bothers some representatives of the "white, Anglo-Saxon and Protestant" sector.

We already know that Trump lacks the political sensitivity to care about people's discomfort, but someone in his team should take note of the accelerated loss of support for the government, precisely among some sectors that voted for him. It also wouldn't hurt to brush up on the history of the fall and liquidation of the Roman Empire, just in case.
