The November 3rd presidential and congressional elections in the United States are in the final stretch amid much uncertainty, both about the final results and the attitude of the president and candidate for re-election, Donald Trump.  What will happen if the vote doesn't go his way?

Thus far, the polls continue to show the Democratic Party candidate, Joe Biden, as favorite -- but no one rules out that the current resident of the White House will repeat the unexpected results of four years ago.

There’s no doubt that pollsters have tried to sharpen their methods so as not to make fools of themselves again, but in the end it's the verdict in some key states what actually matters due to the number of voters they provide.  Which is why in recent days both, Biden and Trump are stepping up their public appearances in Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas and Florida, among other states.

And the COVID-19 pandemic is the core topic for both presidential candidates.

The Republican candidate insists that the bad news about the health crisis is the work of an ill-intentioned press, hence it does not show real facts.  Trump believes that he has been somehow dispossessed of his two main arguments -- a vaccine or an effective treatment to cure the disease.

Moreover, the nominee for the Democrats dwells on criticizing Trump's mishandling of the pandemic and points out his management as the major cause for the increasing number of cases and deaths.   Biden promised that if he wins, he will take immediate action against coronavirus based on the opinion of scientists and health experts.

The fact is that 70 million Americans have already cast their votes in advance, a figure that far exceeds what happened in other elections and predicts a significant attendance at the polls beyond any forecast.

On the other hand, a few days before the final date, a new case of police violence against a Black man has taken over the headlines.

In the city of Philadelphia, a 27-year-old man suffering from mental disorders and apparently carrying a knife was killed by two police officers who shot him ten times.

In the face of this overuse of lethal force, thousands of people took to the streets to protest, and in some places this led to looting and confrontations with the police, which stimulated Trump's speech on "law and order" -- leading to the violent repression of the demonstrators.

Many expectations, doubts and uncertainty surround next Tuesday, November 3rd.  And we must reiterate that the results of the election may perhaps change the form, but not the essence of the behavior of the Empire.
