Donald Trump, president-elect of the United States, is preparing all his political and legal artillery to carry out his program of massive deportations of migrants in an irregular situation or in the process of legalization in the northern power, one of the bases of his campaign for the White House.

Known as Operation Aurora, the controversial tycoon's project foresees the expulsion of at least one million people a year, which would include reviving a regulation issued in 1798, more than 200 years ago, called the Alien Enemies Act.

This law allows the president to deport any non-U.S. citizen over the age of 14 from a country with which the U.S. is at war.

While the northern power is involved in several armed conflicts on the planet, such as in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, it is not legally in military confrontation with any nation at this time, which does not prevent Trump from using this old tool.

Of course, it is not the only thing he is counting on, because during his campaign he gradually revealed how he will carry out his intentions.

For example, he plans to revoke Temporary Protected Status, which allows people from several countries to live and work in the United States when their country is facing extreme situations such as armed conflict, repeated natural disasters, or generalized human rights violations.

Another project is to eliminate so-called humanitarian clemency and require courts to seek the death penalty against foreigners who commit murder against U.S. citizens or authorities.

Sindy Benavides, of the Latino Victory Project, warned that Trump is preparing to take a giant step backwards on civil rights that will have unfortunate consequences for people in vulnerable situations.

The president-elect's anti-immigration platform includes completing the controversial wall on the border with Mexico and imposing sanctions on that country if it does not take drastic measures against those who use its territory to try to enter the United States.

A serious problem is that at this moment Donald Trump already has the Senate of Congress in his hands and is advancing towards control of the House of Representatives, so he will have a free hand to implement his nefarious program, which will have serious repercussions in the countries of the region where there are many people who survive thanks to remittances.
