Cubans from one end of the archipelago to the other are united in the effort to rebuild after the devastating passage of hurricanes Oscar in the east and Rafael in the west in less than 20 days.
Human and material resources are being mobilized from province to province to help the victims in Guantanamo, Artemisa, Mayabeque and Havana.
Without neglecting the work in Guantanamo, intensive work is also being carried out in the western region to rebuild housing and infrastructure, especially electricity, which was severely affected by Rafael, which hit the area last Wednesday with a category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.
Workers from other provinces, such as Camagüey, Holguín, Las Tunas and Granma, traveled to the west of the country to help with the recovery.
In his official account on the social network X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel highlighted the "collective heroism", the attitude of men and women who continue to face adversity.
The authorities are closely monitoring the work. The National Defense Council met again this weekend to follow up on the recovery efforts.
As noted, progress is being made, but much remains to be done given the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Rafael.
It was therefore emphasized that the priority is to restore electricity, communications, water and sanitation.
Once again, young people are actively participating in all the necessary tasks. Medical students from the province of Pinar del Río traveled to Artemisa to assist in various health promotion and disease prevention activities that may occur after the passage of a meteorological event.
And, as was the case after Oscar passed through Guantanamo, once again the solidarity of the Cuban people was mobilized to collect toiletries, clothes and other supplies and deliver them to the victims.
As in the history during complex situations, Cuba is united and spares no effort to work for the recovery and to help any compatriot in need.
