Havana, November 16 (RHC) – Havana’s 500th anniversary celebrations will continue this Saturday with the performance of several Cuban dance companies, singers, bands and orchestras on the steps of the recently refurbished National Capitol. Cuba’s National Ballet, the National Folk Ensemble, Yoruba Andabo and the Spanish Ballet are set to perform on the stage built in front of the majestic building, currently the headquarters of the Caribbean country’s National Assembly of People’s Power or parliament.
Pancho Amat and his Cabildo del Son will introduce a touch of traditional Cuban ‘trova’, while the Tropicana Nightclub company will provide the closing of the cultural activity on the dance side to give way to one of greater dimensions since, as planned, more than 16 thousand fireworks will give more luster to the party in the sky at midnight. That will happen to the tune of a music score by Cuban pianist and composer Frank Fernández, who worked on it with a Canadian fireworks company team.
