RT Spanish began broadcasting 24/7 in Cuba on May 25. According to a communique issued by Cuban Television, two new high definition tv channels, HD-3 and HD-4, have started trial transmissions in Cuba. It added that RT Spanish is available on HD-4 channel.
RT Spanish began broadcasting from Moscow in 2009. Within its first year, leaders of more than 10 Latin American countries gave interviews to the channel, including the Presidents of Ecuador and Venezuela, Rafael Correa and Hugo Chavez.
Select RT Spanish programming became available in Cuba in 2014, via Multivision – a public channel with national coverage, whose programming is centered in the broadcast of productions from foreign channels, specifically Venezuela, Argentina, Germany, China and content from programmers such as Discovery Networks.
With bureaus in Madrid, Miami, Los Angeles, Havana and Buenos Aires, RT Spanish is available today on more than 1.000 satellite and cable networks in Latin America, Spain and the United States.
