EGREM releases album dedicated to Cha-cha-cha

Havana, May 24 (RHC)-- Cuba’s record and musical editions company EGREM and El Cerrito Records and Studio have just released the album "Cha Cha Chá: Homenaje a lo tradicional", dedicated to Cha Cha Cha --a traditional Cuban dance and to Cuban violinist and composer Enrique Jorrin, who created the first cha cha cha song in 1948.

Featured artists include singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Alain Pérez, singer Issac Delgado and Aragon Orchestra, performing new versions of iconic cha cha cha tunes.

Cha cha cha derives from rumba and danzon-mambo. Jorrin named the dance after the shuffling sound the dancers shoes made when they dance to this type of music.

In the early 1950s, cha-cha-cha craze spread to Mexico, and later to the rest of Latin America, the United States and even Europe.

The album "Cha Cha Chá: Homenaje a lo tradicional" featuring Alain Pérez, Issac Delgado and Orquesta Aragon is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, as well as on the facebook page of EGREM.
