Yoel Costa Pazos

Havana, May 28 (RHC)-- Young Cuban counter tenor Yoel Costa Pazos is among the winners of the New Opera Talent International Competition for opera singers, held at the Flavio Vespasiano Di Rieti Theatre in Italy.

Organizers said the awards ceremony will be held on November 14th at the same theatre.

A graduate from the school of the National Opera Theatre, Yoel Lázaro Costa Pazo is a founding member of Habana Clásicos project, performing leading roles in works like La Corte del Faraón , Boheme , Traviata, among many others.

In 2015, he was invited by the director of Schmidt Tivoli Theatre to perform at the Del Grises Schmidt Winter gala along with prestigious German opera singers.

Here in Cuba, he performs regularly at the world-famous cabaret Tropicana, Hotel Nacional de Cuba, and Humboldt bar. He is a singing professor at Amadeo Roldán Conservatorium.
