Meeting of Young Choreographers
Guantánamo, May 30 (RHC)-- The 7th Meeting of Young Choreographers organized by the Hermanos Saiz Association in eastern Guantánamo province offers new dance proposals through social networks.
The event seeks new strategies so that the general public gain access to those works created during the long, harsh months of self-isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Loneliness, fear, mourning and yearning are recurrent themes in the exhibited works. In that sense, the choreography ‘analogías de la pandemia’ by Mexican Hector Morán stands out.
The sense of loss or standing still is recreated in piece like ‘juntos a distancia, pero juntos’ (together from a distance, but together) by Norge Luis Pupo deals with the desperation generated by the prolonged confinement.
The academic segment of the event seeks to improve creativity amidst the pandemic and ways to reach out to and better communicate with the people from a distance.
