Havana, July 8 (RHC)-- The film 'Los Nombres de las Flores', based on the last minutes in the life of legendary Argentinian-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Guevara ‘Che’, will be screened at the 11th Beijing International Film Festival, organizers have said.
The event will run from August 14th through the 21st and will feature 13 Chinese and foreign films that will compete for the Tiantan Award in different categories.
'Los Nombres de las Flores' (from 2019), directed by Iranian filmmaker Bahman Tavoosi, is based on the testimony of Bolivian teacher Julia Cortez, one of the last persons who saw Che alive. She said that she talked to him and offered him a peanut soup a few minutes before Che was assassinated in Vallegrande, Bolivia, in October 1967.
The film already won the Best Director Award this year at the Kerala International Film Festival, in India, and the Best Narrative Feature Film Award at the Sharjah Film Platform in the United Arab Emirates in 2020.
