Havana, Oct. 14 (RHC)-- Cuba’s Orquesta Failde, led by flutist Ethiel Failde, has just released a new, animated music video for the track ‘Esas no son cubanas’, featuring Puerto Rican musician Andy Montañéz.

The tune is included in band’s album ‘Faílde con Tumbao’, produced by the Record and Musical Editions Company EGREM) and nominated to the 2020 Latin Grammy in the category of Best Traditional Tropical Album.

With arrangements by pianist, composer and arranger Alejandro Falcón, the tune by Failde Orchestra is a new version of a Cuban classic entitled ‘La cubana es la perla del eden’ by renowned Cuban musician Ignacio Piñeiro –one of the greatest all-time exponents of Cuban son and the founder of the Ignacio Piñeiro Septeto Nacional orchestra in 1927.

Failde Orchestra has remained very active in times of Covid-19, creating and releasing new music that mix traditional Cuban music with new contemporary sounds. They have also given several virtual concerts, as part of the campaign organized by the Cuban Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Music Institute and the Radio and Television Institute.

Last April, the orchestra celebrated its 9th anniversary with a broad program on social networks, including the release of a new album ‘Joyas Inéditas’, the band’s fourth studio album, again under EGREM label, compiling previously unrecorded tunes by Miguel Failde and Aniceto Díaz, two great Cuban musicians, exponents of danzon music.
