Havana, May 30 (RHC)-- Cuban expert Margarita Mc Pherson intervened Tuesday at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, in the process to update the 1974 Recommendation, which seeks to strengthen education as a promoter of peace, cooperation and human rights.

The multilateral organization held four days of debates to promote consensus among member states on the adaptation of the Recommendation to the new times, with challenges that include the achievement of sustainable development.

"We consider Cuba's participation in the revision and updating process very important, because the main lines and approaches of the 1974 Recommendation are in tune with the positions defended by the island of an inclusive education for all life," the Education Ministry official explained to Prensa Latina news agency.
