US Jonathan Hoard bids farewell to Cuba
Havana, Jul 2 (RHC) Young US composer and arranger Jonathan Hoard, a renowned artist on the New York scene, said goodbye to the Cuban public with two memorable concerts to honor Pride Month.
The Grammy award-winning musician visited Havana from June 24 to 30 to celebrate the equality, visibility, and empowerment of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community and its expression through the arts to honor this date in the United States.
Hoard’s visit was a collaboration between the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the Cuban Music Institute, along with the Embassy of the United States in Havana.
Two concerts were enough for the audience to experience the artist’s charisma and stage presence, as well as his interaction with children and adults.
Hoard also met with representatives of the Higher Institute of Art, the Amadeo Roldan School, and the Cuban Rap Agency, where he learned about Cuba’s artistic education system and held several jam sessions with students and young musicians. (Source: Prensa Latina)
